"Indian Curry" is featured in the "Family Style Zine: An AAPI Food Anthology", an illustration publication by Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander Creators to share the lesser- known histories behind Asian foods.
Anyone who enjoys the flavorful taste of curry can assure that it is representative of South Asian food, more specifically Indian food. Curry has become so interwoven with Indian culture and lifestyle, that it’s hard to question that a dish as popular as curry would originate from anywhere else. Curry is a term that defined an entire nation, but does it really come from India?
"How to be American" embodies the idea of assimilation into different aspect of the American culture. The iconography within the book is used to represent experinces that are sewn into the fabric of our daily lives. The intention of this project, is to communicate the development of identity while living in an American society through a simplified language.
