Curry has become so interwoven with Indian culture and lifestyle, that it’s hard to question that a dish as popular as curry would originate from anywhere else. "How to be American" embodies the idea of assimilation into different aspect of the American culture. The iconography within the book is used to represent experinces that are sewn into the fabric of our daily lives. The intention of this project, is to communicate the development of identity while living in an American society through a simplified language.
